Congratulations to Nick, for the publication of his paper, Revealing pMDI Spray Initial Conditions: Flashing, Atomisation and the Effect of Ethanol in the journal Pharmaceutical Research. This is the result of our second visit to Argonne National Laboratories, using the synchrotron at the Advanced Photon Source. In this paper, we use both x-ray radiography and x-ray phase contrast to study the internal dynamics that set up the initial condition of the atomising spray in asthma puffers. This work answers a lot of open questions (and poses some new ones) about the operation of these devices.
